Dr. Farnham brings more than two decades of distinguished professional experience across disability services, hospice clinical practice and leadership, higher education, and research. His career integrates direct practice, executive leadership, and academic scholarship, with expertise in inclusive systems design, operational leadership, policy development, and organizational strategy. He has provided executive leadership and strategic consultation to several major regional and national healthcare and disability service organizations.
In addition to leading the Academy, Dr. Parnham holds a tenured appointment as Full Professor in Wellstar College’s Department of Social Work and Human Services, strengthening the program’s academic integration, research capacity, and long-term strategic growth.
“Dr. Parnham brings an exceptional combination of leadership experience, scholarly expertise, and a deep commitment to inclusive education,” said Laurie Tis, Ph.D., Interim Dean of Wellstar College of Health and Human Services. “His vision and strategic perspective will help further strengthen the Academy’s mission while positioning ʳɫƵ as a continued leader in inclusive postsecondary education.”
Dr. Parnham holds multiple advanced and terminal degrees in clinical medical social work, business administration, higher education, and organizational leadership, with academic study that includes The University of Alabama and Oriel College at Oxford University. Nationally and internationally, he has been recognized for leadership, research contributions, and advocacy, particularly in advancing inclusion, ethical practice, and systems-level transformation.
Under Dr. Farnham’s leadership, the Academy will focus on strategic growth, national prominence, and program innovation. High-level priorities include expanding access to inclusive postsecondary education, strengthening scholarship and employer partnerships, increasing career pathway opportunities for students, and advancing research and collaboration that elevate the Academy’s impact nationally.
