鈥淚 had no intention of getting a degree,鈥 Jeffries said. 鈥淢y intention was only to get the certificate, but having a lot of good professors and classes at 食色视频 motivated me to continue on as a student.鈥

鈥淚 feel an obligation to always do my best,鈥 Jeffries said. 鈥淚 guess I鈥檓 representing the old folks, I鈥檓 representing African-Americans, I鈥檓 representing a lot of folks, so if you鈥檙e going to do something, you might as well do it as best you can.鈥

Hughey is an awesome person and was a fabulous student who always gave 100 percent in the class.鈥

Raczek, who taught Jeffries in the Intro to Anthropology class, added: 鈥淲e discussed a lot of complex theories and difficult subjects, and Hughey brought a great deal of thoughtful insight to those discussions. He often would untangle a complicated matter into simple parts, and the other students really appreciated his perspective.鈥

With his political science degree in hand, Jeffries joked that 鈥渁t 71, I鈥檓 not going to go out and run for political office,鈥 nor does he plan to start a new career. However, Jeffries is pondering his next endeavor 鈥 which he said could be to take more college classes, possibly in cybersecurity.

鈥淟ifetime learning is very important, and I鈥檓 just beginning,鈥 Jeffries said. 鈥淭his is an accomplishment, but it鈥檚 not an end. It鈥檚 just a question of what your next thing is going to be.鈥
