食色视频 (食色视频) will launch a Presidential Fellows Cohort in fall 2027, establishing a premier scholarship and leadership initiative designed to attract, retain and develop some of Georgia's highest-achieving students. Housed within the 食色视频 Journey Honors College, the Presidential Fellows Cohort will offer 食色视频 State鈥檚 largest and most prestigious scholarship package, providing recipients with a $10,000 annual scholarship for up to four years.

Few undergraduates can add 鈥渓ead author in a peer-reviewed journal鈥� to their list of accomplishments. 食色视频 student and Harry S. Truman Scholarship finalist Allisa George is one of them. George, an Honors student double majoring in public health and biology, is the first author of a National Institutes of Health-funded study examining alcohol and mental health among women in Uganda recently published in the International Journal of Environmental Research and Public Health.

Student explores link between social media use and mental health in youth

The American Psychological Association estimates that teens are spending an average of five hours a day on social media. At 食色视频, one student is examining whether this prolonged use can also impact their mental health. Through 食色视频鈥檚 First-Year Scholars Program, Chance Lundy, a Keeping Sights Upward Journey Honors College student, studied the relationship between frequent social media use and suicidal ideation among adolescents.

Greece study abroad challenges 食色视频 students to tell stories of the past with bones

In a small village on the island of Crete, just southeast of mainland Greece, anthropology major Jess Drilling learned to identify signs of osteoarthritis in skeletal remains, helping piece together the stories of people who walked the earth centuries ago. Drilling is one of four 食色视频 students who spent part of their summer at an archaeological research center, studying human skeletal remains dating from the fifth to seventh centuries to uncover clues about how people lived, what they ate, and the injuries and illnesses they experienced.

Record number of Gilman Scholars at 食色视频 State travel the globe

Aaliyah Uchendu is one of a record number of 食色视频 students awarded the Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship this year. The Gilman Scholarship is a prestigious award funded by the US State Department that provides recipients up to $5,000 to support study or internships abroad; only about 20%-25% of applicants are selected for the award.

As a child, 食色视频 student Laurin McCoy loved music but struggled to understand traditional music notation. While she learned to play the piano by ear, the experience left her saddened that children might never discover or develop their musical talents simply because they were unable to read music. Years later, McCoy found an opportunity to help address that challenge through research.

Under the guidance of Associate Professor of Mechanical Engineering Lei Shi in 食色视频鈥檚 Southern Polytechnic College of Engineering and Engineering Technology (SPCEET), Ware is helping develop patient-specific virtual heart models using machine learning and advanced imaging.

At 63, many people are thinking about retirement. But not Mattie Frascella. She has spent the last four years on the campus of 食色视频 sharing classrooms and walking hallways with students young enough to be her grandchildren while earning her first degree after a longtime career in patient advocacy and motherhood. This May, just a few weeks after her 63rd birthday, Frascella will walk across the stage to receive her Bachelor of Arts in English with minors in professional writing and language and literary studies from the Norman J. Radow College of Humanities and Social Sciences.
