Assistant Professor of English and Creative Writing
Mary McMyne is the author of the novels (Hachette, 2022) and (Hachette, 2024), as well as an award-winning speculative poetry chapbook, (Dancing Girl Press, 2014). Her work engages with folklore, history, and the stories behind stories, and usually falls between the genres of historical and speculative literature. She is the recipient of a grant from the Sustainable Arts Foundation to research The Book of Gothel in Germany, a National Endowment for the Arts fellowship to Vermont Studio Center, and the Faulkner-Wisdom Prize for a Novel-in-Progress, among other honors. Her short fiction and poetry has appeared in publications like Gulf Coast, Cimarron Review, Strange Horizons, Philadelphia Stories, Apex Magazine, and The Journal of Feminist Studies in Religion. She is a graduate of the New York University MFA program.
