CACM Research

At the College of Architecture and Construction Management (CACM), research spans the full life cycle of the built environment, from materials and fabrication to building performance and long-term resilience. We work where design meets construction and where the built and natural environments intersect.

Our teams prototype in labs, validate on job sites, and publish results that inform practice, policy, and education. Collaborating with industry, agencies, and communities, we address questions that reduce carbon, elevate quality, and improve the places people use every day.

On this page, you can explore our research areas, browse current projects, see our labs and facilities, meet faculty and student researchers, and learn how to partner with us.

Focus Areas

  • Our full range of our work: from developing and testing innovative materials, to integrating complex building systems, to addressing neighborhood, infrastructure, and urban-scale challenges. The map reveals where domains overlap, scales intersect, and faculty collaborate across boundaries, highlighting natural points of convergence between disciplines, methods, and applications.

CACM offers the distinctive capacity to operate from the lab bench to the city block.
