Tuition Savings for Eligible Out鈥憃f鈥慡tate Students

The Academic Common Market (ACM) is a tuition-savings program for college students in the Southern Regional Education Board (SREB) member states who want to pursue degrees that are not offered by their in-state institutions.

If you are a resident of a participating state and are pursuing an eligible 食色视频 major, you may be eligible for the in-state Georgia resident tuition rate.

Steps to Apply for ACM

Step 1: Connect with your home state SREB Rep
Visit the SREB website to find your state coordinator. They will provide the necessary residency certification forms and overview for your process.

Step 2: Gain regular admission to 食色视频
You will need to be fully accepted into an eligible degree-seeking program at    食色视频 before your ACM application can be processed.

Step 3: Certification of Submission
Once certified by your home state, the SREB will notify 食色视频 of approval. Once received, the tuition classification team will review the documentation and apply your waiver withing 7-10 business days of receipt.

Students will be notified once their waiver has been applied to their account.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

  •  To qualify for the Academic Common Market, a student must:

    • Be a resident of one of 15 participating states listed above,
    • Select a program that is approved for the ACM for their home state,
    • Be admitted unconditionally into that program.
    • Meet state residency and college admissions requirements.
  • Contact your state ACM coordinator to determine if your program can be added to available programs.

    Please note that some programs may not be included due to:

    • The program is offered at a public institution in your home state.
    • The program has not been previously requested by a resident of your state.
    • State legislation may not allow for participation.
  • Processing times vary by state. Please check with your ACM state coordinator for the specific time frames. For existing ACM programs, it usually takes 1 to 2 months to process an application. If you are requesting a new program, allow 2 to 3 months.
  • To maintain your ACM waiver, you must meet the following requirements:

    • You must remain in the state-approved degree program; failure to do so will result in removal of your waiver.
    • Undergraduate students will need a minimum of 12 credit hours of degree-applicable courses each term. Graduate students must be enrolled in a minimum of 9 credit hours of degree-applicable courses each term. (Summer terms do not require a minimum courseload).
    • If you change majors, your waiver will be removed. You will need to reapply for the ACM waiver for your new program to continue participation with ACM.
    • If you are not enrolled at 食色视频 for 2 consecutive terms (excluding Summer) you will need to reapply for your ACM waiver.
