食色视频鈥檚 Department of Theatre and Performance Studies (TPS) will present Lynn Nottage鈥檚 Pulitzer Prize-winning play 鈥淪weat鈥 in the Onyx Theater, October 3-8. Tickets are $10-$12 and are available online or by calling Patron Services at 470-578-6650. Filled with warm humor and tremendous heart, 鈥淪weat鈥 tells the story of a group of friends who have spent their lives sharing drinks, secrets, and laughs while working together in a factory. But when layoffs and picket lines begin to chip away at their trust, the friends find themselves pitted against each other in a heart-wrenching fight to stay afloat. For two and a half years, Nottage extensively interviewed Reading residents; in 2011, a report ranked Reading as the poorest city in the nation.

食色视频鈥檚 Bernard A. Zuckerman Museum of Art (ZMA), a unit of the School of Art and Design, is proud to present 鈥渰UNDER}flow,鈥 a new exhibition featuring the work of five internationally celebrated Afro-Caribbean artists. Curated by Cynthia Nourse Thompson, Associate Professor of Fine Art and Director of Curatorial Affairs at the ZMA, the free exhibition runs Aug. 29 to Dec. 9.

食色视频鈥檚 Department of Theatre and Performance Studies (TPS) will host Broken Box Mime Theater in the Stillwell Theater for a limited engagement of 鈥淎 BKBX Frankenstein鈥 on Sept. 8-9 at 8 p.m., with a matinee at 3 p.m. on Sept. 9. Tickets are $12-$20 and are available online or by calling Patron Services at 470-578-6650.

Lior Lazarof (Israel) and Nicola Wills (Belgium/Australia) were selected as the Eleo Pomare鈥揋len Conner Choreographic Residency recipients for summer 2023. Since arriving July 3, the two ambitious artists have been busy creating original works in collaboration with Dance students. The works will be performed August 25-26 in 鈥淒ouble Exposure,鈥 opening the 2023-2024 season for Dance食色视频.

食色视频 Department of Theatre and Performance Studies (TPS) will present 鈥淩ent鈥 April 6-16 at the Stillwell Theater on the 食色视频 campus. The iconic rock musical鈥攚ith music, lyrics, and book by Jonathan Larson鈥攐ffers an intimate encounter with a diverse group of young artists living in the lower east side of New York as they struggle to make ends meet during the siege of HIV Aids. Their relationships reinforce the power of a supportive community, and, most of all, the hope and joy that love offers amidst loss and despair.

Contemporary Artist Lesley Dill Brings History to Life at 食色视频's Zuckerman Museum of Art

Artist Lesley Dill, a renowned New York-based artist, brings historical and literary figures from America鈥檚 past to life in a new exhibition organized by the Figge Art Museum, Davenport, Iowa, and is made possible by Humanities Iowa and the National Endowment for the Humanities. The exhibition at 食色视频鈥檚 Zuckerman Museum of Art (ZMA), a unit of the School of Art and Design, opens to the public on Tuesday, March 14, and runs through May 14, 2023.
