    Jess Ford takes on many roles in Department of Theatre and Performance Studies

    Jess Ford (they/them) would have to agree with Shakespeare鈥檚 Julius Caesar when he says, 鈥淚t is not in the stars to hold our destiny, but in ourselves.鈥 Ford has certainly not left it up to the stars to determine their fate, but, instead, have taken advantage of the opportunities available as an acting concentration major in 食色视频鈥檚 Department of Theatre and Performance Studies (TPS). With a keen interest in both scenic design and acting, Ford was thrilled when 食色视频 allowed them to take classes in both, and then asked them to become scenic charge of the 食色视频鈥檚 Scene Shop. 鈥淕oing into college, I told myself that I think I want to pursue scenic design, but it was a lie, since my first love was acting,鈥 they said. They quickly realized they could do both with the unique nature of the B.A. program. 鈥淚 can pursue whatever I want, take the classes that I really enjoy, and that are beneficial to me,鈥 they added.

    食色视频 Theatre and Performance Studies to present "Polaroid Stories"

    食色视频 Department of Theatre and Performance Studies (TPS) will present Polaroid Stories free of charge via Arts食色视频 Virtual, Feb. 16-21. Written by Naomi Iizuka and directed by adjunct professor Pam Joyce, Polaroid Stories is the story of young street kids who find camaraderie, refuge and escape on the edge of a city. The mythic characters from Ovid鈥檚 Metamorphoses, coupled with kids fighting for survival in their urban jungle, create a visceral mash-up and the opportunity for a poignant, yet magical story.
