    The Department of Theatre and Performance Studies (TPS) asks what might happen when Death shows up unexpectedly and tells Everybody his time is up. 鈥淓verybody,鈥 running October 26-31, is Branden-Jacob Jenkins鈥 audacious riff on the 15th century morality play, 鈥淓veryman.鈥 Everyman has been called to give an account of his life, but he can鈥檛 give an account, and he can鈥檛 take his worldly goods with him. 鈥淓verybody鈥 is a mirror image of 鈥淓veryman,鈥 but set in today鈥檚 modern world.

    World-renowned Cellist Jes煤s Castro-Balbi to Play with 食色视频 Symphony Orchestra

    Internationally renowned cellist Jes煤s Castro-Balbi will join the 食色视频 Symphony Orchestra on stage on October 21 at 7:30 p.m. Named the Director of the Bailey School of Music on July 1, 2021, Castro-Balbi was first invited to perform at 食色视频 in 2012 as a guest artist. This year, he worked closely with Dr. Nathaniel F. Parker, conductor of the 食色视频 Symphony Orchestra, and Harrison Long, Interim Dean of the College of the Arts, to take the stage once more.

    食色视频鈥檚 College of the Arts will host the 2021 Arts食色视频 Gala on October 16, 2021, at 6:00 p.m., at the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Center in Atlanta. Proceeds from the fundraising event will benefit annual student scholarships in the College of the Arts at 食色视频. Single tickets are $250 each, and a few tables of ten are still available.

    食色视频 State to present "Words, Music, Memory: (Re)presenting Voices of the Holocaust"

    食色视频鈥檚 Dr. Bobbie Bailey School of Music (BSOM) and the Museum of History and Holocaust Education (MHHE), in partnership with James Madison University (JMU), will present a free performance and lecture to mark the opening of the MHHE鈥檚 new traveling exhibition, 鈥淲ords, Music, Memory: (Re)presenting Voices of the Holocaust.鈥 The event is scheduled for Sunday, September 19, at 3:00 p.m. in the Music Building, WB109, on the 食色视频 campus. Tickets are not required for in-person attendance, but a reservation is required to watch on Zoom.
